Tyson Fury has signaled his readiness for a potential showdown with Fabio Wardley if an all-British blockbuster against Anthony Joshua fails to materialise.
The ‘Gypsy King’, who announced his retirement last January following back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, has been teasing a comeback in recent months. Now, at 37, Fury looks set to return to the ring in 2026.
Currently training in Thailand, Fury has been sharing regular workout clips with his millions of followers. In a recent post, he appeared to confirm his comeback:
“2026 is that year Return of the Mac. Been away for a while but I’m back now, 37 years old and still punching. Nothing better to do than punch men in the face and get paid for it.”
Joshua’s Situation
Fury also acknowledged that Joshua may not be in the right frame of mind to fight, following the tragic car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his close team members.
“Boxing will certainly be the last thing on his mind right now… tragedy can affect people in different ways; sometimes, you need something you can really focus on to pull through.”
