Lawes says this rule is old and doesnโt make sense anymore. Rugby is played all over the world, and many English players move abroad for better pay or new challenges. He believes England should still be able to use their talent, no matter where they play.
โEngland selection should no longer be restricted to players based at domestic clubs,โ Lawes explained.
The rule was made to protect the English Premiership and make sure players are available for training camps. But critics argue it hurts the national team by leaving out experienced stars who could help England win big matches.
